The STEMBooster Project is a major skills and economic development initiative to develop the pipeline of talent in North and North West QLD. RDA is looking to implement this industry skilling program, similar to the RDA Hunter Valley’s ME program, in the North and North West Queensland Region.  The program will be developed in partnership with industry to meet future workforce needs. If you’d like to know more or participate please be in touch with us.

With an increasing demand for STEM skills in our region through our major employment sectors – mining and minerals processing, agriculture/cattle/aquaculture, health and services as well as emerging and new industries  such as defence, aviation and digital services, RDA has recognised the lack of suitable workforce and has developed this project to address this.

Based on the RDA Hunter STEM project and their experiences, but tailored to suit our region, this project will connect educators, students and industry creating an effective collaboration between schools and industry, increase apprenticeship uptake, and create a pipeline of new employees for businesses. The project will also deliver improved access to equipment for teaching, increased confidence and capabilities of teachers in STEM and an innovative workforce.
