The $841.6 million Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.
On 27th September 2020, Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Michael McCormack MP announced the next round of BBRF. It will be a $200million round with $100million dedicated to tourism-related infrastructure.
Round 5 will open for applications on 12 January 2021 and close on 5 March 2021.
This program is open to local governments, incorporated not-for-profits and non-distributing co-operatives. All applicants must have an Australian Business Number.
The objectives of the program are to drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.
The intended outcomes include creating jobs, having a positive impact on economic activity , enhancing community facilities, enhancing leadership capacity and encouraging community cohesion.

This round will provide $100 million for tourism-related infrastructure projects under the Infrastructure Projects Stream and another $100 million across other infrastructure projects and community investment projects.
